Best Practise...How to creative the best working set up ft Made By Chapter
With a lot of us still working from home, it is as important as ever to have a working set up that allows you to maintain focus and keep the level of productivity high. Here are some of our tips to make the best out of it:
- Mind Your Posture
Slouching, neck and back pain are not only reserved for the elderly. No wonder - we spend so much time in front of screens every day! Keeping your computer at the proper distance and eye-level is so important when trying to avoid or alleviate neck and back pain. Investing in a MOFT laptop stand and a comfortable chair are some of the easiest upgrades to your workspace to promote a healthy working posture. 5, 10 or 20 years down the line, your body will thank you for sure.
- Minimise distractions
Whether the neighbourhood dogs are barking or you're conveniently close to a construction site, minimising distractions will help you work better. However, keeping your workplace neat and clean will help you stay on top of things! That heap of papers you don’t need but are still sitting on your desk? Toss them away from sight. What about books, pens, earphones? Be honest with yourself: do you really use them?
Making space will also make your brain perform better as it will have less things to focus on. Keep it simple: a desk, a plant, your laptop and MOFT laptop stand are everything you need to get going.
- Let Natural Light In
Unless you’re a photo or video editor, working in a dark space will not do more harm than good. Dark working spaces and bright screens can put a strain on your eyesight! Instead, look for a place with windows. Natural light boosts the immune system and it will help you stay more productive throughout the day, but also sleep better at night by balancing your circadian rhythm.
- Remember to Take Breaks
It is so easy to get lost in your work and forget to take breaks, but make a commitment to your wellness and productivity by setting aside time to press pause. Whether it is a short walk, getting a (healthy!) snack, doing a yoga sequence or dancing to your favourite tune, breaks allow us to recharge and be more productive. Set a timer or schedule it into your calendar if you need to - and then give your eyes and mind a break away from the screen!
