When it comes to setting new goals for the year, make sure that you do so kindly.
Let’s be honest, there is enough content out there pushing us all to set new goals and resolutions for the new year. In fact, it can often seem overwhelming - we’re being told that we need to create big goals, we need to think about our future and create plans, and then, we need to achieve those goals. That’s a lot of pressure!
Whilst setting goals, putting plans in place, and getting into a productive and energetic mindset is definitely beneficial, it can sometimes be detrimental.
The last thing you should do at the beginning of a brand new year is put too much pressure on yourself, trigger imposter syndrome, or push yourself into a state of anxiety worrying about the future.
Instead, try starting out the new year in a positive way - after all, we should be setting the precedent for the entire year in the run-up to and in the first few weeks of the new year!
That’s why we want to encourage you to start your new year with compassion.
Show kindness to yourself at all times, be patient with yourself, and treat yourself as you would treat a best friend.
When it comes to setting new goals for the year (if that’s something you want to do!), make sure that you do so kindly. Go ahead and set goals, dream big, and get yourself into an ultra-productive headspace if that’s what you want to do, but make sure that the goals you are creating actually align with your life and where you want to be.
Try creating goals that are positive, actionable, endearing, kind, and genuinely achievable. However, most importantly, try to set goals that go hand in hand with your wellbeing - think about your wellbeing every time you create a new goal and see if it aligns with the vision of health and wellbeing you want for yourself.
Overall, as we get ready to receive 2022, let's make sure that we are doing so in the best possible headspace and that our main focus is on being kind and compassionate to ourselves and those around us.
Wishing you a very Happy New Year from all of us at Juno. Just remember to be kind to yourself this year!
